Program Council is excited to announce that Eve 6, after recently signing to Fearless Records, will be the main act at this year’s Homecoming Concert. With hits all throughout the 1990s and afterwards like, “Inside Out”, “Leech” and “Here’s to the Night”, this year’s concert will be as memorable as their songs. Nine Days will also be performing, having made 7 studio albums in their 17-year history.

After reuniting in 2007 with all 3 original members after a three-year hiatus, Eve 6 is set to release their fourth studio album early next year. The band formed in Southern California in 1995 while the members were still in high school and were signed onto RCA Records. They then proceeded to sweep the alternative rock charts in the late 90s, getting as high as #1 on the U.S. Modern Rock chart in 1998 with “Inside Out”, off of their self-titled album.

Nine Days, also from the 90s pop punk reign, will be the second opener, following PLACES. The East Coast rockers are best known for their hits “Absolutely (Story of a Girl)” and “If I Am”, off of their studio debut album The Maddening Crowd, which was released in 2000. Although Nine Days haven’t been hitting the concert circuit hard in recent years, they have toured with Marcy’s Playground, to 90s’ grunge fans’ delight.

Starting the night off is PLACES: a Rock, Pop, and Soul project formed in the summer of 2008. After members relocated back and forth for over a year from Montana to Colorado to keep the band going, PLACES now calls Denver home. Fueled by singer/songwriter Tyler Glasgow as well as Jordan McDonald, Brian Martin, Jon Hatridge, and brothers Checkers, Branden, and Drew Barker, PLACES brings a unique approach and a style that is all their own. Using a dual drum attack, they blend several styles and genres effortlessly- honest lyrics and soulful delivery mixed with clever hooks and a guilty charm makes this band an easy one to get in to, and these boys wouldn’t have it any other way.

Previous years have held RJD2 and Tapes ‘N’ Tapes. Homecoming is absolutely free, and students, alumni, and friends of CU-Boulder are welcome to come out and enjoy the music from a simpler time in our lives. The 90s were a decade seen as the start of the postmodern era, and the music produced during this time is no different. This year’s Homecoming Theme is “Celebrating CU: Through the Decades”, and Program Council is hoping to bring CU back about 10 years, saluting two bands that cemented our boomboxes a decade ago.
